KOKUSAI ELECTRIC CORPORATION (President and CEO: Fumiyuki Kanai, Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan) is pleased to announce that in June 2022, we were registered as a signatory company to the UN Global Compact (“UNGC”), a voluntary initiative proposed by the United Nations. We also joined the Global Compact Network Japan, comprised of Japanese companies and other entities which have signed onto the UNGC.

The UN Global Compact (UNGC) is the world’s largest sustainability initiative designed to help the United Nations and the private sector (businesses and organizations) to join hands and build a healthy global society. It is a voluntary initiative under which each participating company or organization should exercise leadership responsibly, act as a good member of society and thereby achieve sustainable growth. Signatory companies and organizations to the UNGC have made continuous efforts, as pledged in the commitments by their highest-level executives, to implement the Ten Principles of the UNGC concerning the protection of human rights, the elimination of unfair labour, response to environmental problems, and the prevention of corruption.
