KOKUSAI ELECTRIC CORPORATION (President and CEO: Fumiyuki Kanai, headquarters: Tokyo, Japan) has been recognized as a “2025 Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization (Large Enterprise Category)” jointly selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Nippon Kenko Kaigi for the fourth consecutive year.

Under the " Health & Productivity Management Declaration" by the President and CEO, the KOKUSAI ELECTRIC Group is implementing a variety of health-related initiatives, including those listed below, to promote the creation of workplaces where all employees can work with enthusiasm and vitality, without worrying about their physical and mental health.
Main Initiatives
1.Physical health measures
We are working on measures to prevent and ameliorate lifestyle-related diseases through regular health checkups for all employees, recommendations for additional examinations, health guidance, risk-specific health education, and health apps. We are also actively promoting initiatives to improve health literacy and encourage behavior change. These initiatives include health lectures by an industrial physician, events related to dietary habits, and further strengthening of education that encourages smokers to quit smoking and smoking cessation measures.
2.Mental health measures
We are working to prevent, detect, and respond to employees with mental health issues at an early stage by expanding internal and external consultation desks, conducting training of supervisors by an industrial physician (psychiatrist), and engaging in efforts to improve the workplace environment based on the results of group analyses of employee stress checks. Moreover, industrial physicians, public health nurses, and nurses collaborate to conduct regular counseling sessions between an industrial physician and employees on mental health leave to help them recuperate and return to work without anxiety, and to ensure that they can work with peace of mind once they return to work.
3.Work reforms to create a comfortable workplace
We measure employee satisfaction by category through conducting regular surveys on all Group companies within and outside Japan. Based on the results, we develop and implement action plans to make improvements in each department. We also carry out initiatives to activate the workplace. One example of this is creating opportunities for employees to engage in dialogue company-wide. In order to help employees who have job anxiety or have missed work due to illness or injury, we have implemented measures such as a health consultation desk, an accumulated annual paid leave program workers can use for inpatient and outpatient treatment, a long-term leave compensation program, and regular consultations with an occupational doctor.
Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations Recognition Program
The Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations Recognition Program recognizes large enterprises, SMEs and other corporations that practice particularly excellent health and productivity management aligned with initiatives for addressing local health issues as well as health promotion initiatives promoted by the Nippon Kenko Kaigi. By visualizing outstanding companies engaged in health and productivity management, the program aims to foster an environment where such companies can be socially recognized by employees, job seekers, related companies, financial institutions and others as corporations that consider employees' health and productivity management from a business-management perspective and strategically impalement relevant initiatives.
Under the corporate slogan "Technology & Tai-wa for Tomorrow," we will pursue economic, environmental, and social values from both business and ESG (resolving environmental and social issues and strengthening governance) aspects, with the aim of contributing to the achievement of SDGs and realizing a sustainable society and our group’s sustainable development.
