The Tonami Manufacturing Center, which is engaged in the manufacturing of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, has introduced the Toyama Mizu-no-sato Denki (“Toyama Water Village Electricity”). This electricity is generated at prefectural operated hydroelectric power stations in Toyama Prefecture established by Toyama Prefecture and Hokuriku Electric Power Company, and a ceremony was held to receive the Toyama Mizu-no-sate Denki certification. The Tonami Manufacturing Center is aiming to become an environmentally friendly factory that runs on 100% renewable energy, including the introduction of a solar power generation system that can run the entire facility, and the introduction of Toyama Mizuno-Sato Denki (“Toyama Water Village Electricity”) is part of that effort.

The Toyama Mizu-no-sato Denki (“Toyama Water Village Electricity”) is one of the three rate plans of the Toyama Mirai Sousei Denki (“Electric power for the creation of the future of Toyama”), an electricity supply brand created by Toyama Prefecture and Hokuriku Electric Power Company. This electricity is generated at prefectural operated hydroelectric power stations in Toyama Prefecture and is provided to companies and other organizations in the prefecture that meet certain requirements, with the aim of supporting decarbonization and promoting the local consumption of locally generated energy.

Our group is committed to reduce the environmental impacts associated with its business activities as a responsibility of a globally operating company. As a company located in Toyama Prefecture, we also aim to contribute to the sustainable development of the prefecture and the revitalization of local communities. Following our previous implementation at the Toyama Technology & Manufacturing Center (Yatsuo-machi, Toyama-shi)*, we have recently introduced the Toyama Mizu-no-sato Denki (“Toyama Water Village Electricity”) at the Tonami Manufacturing Center.

Under the corporate slogan “Technology & Tai-wa for Tomorrow,” we will pursue economic, environmental, and social values from both business and ESG (resolving environmental and social issues and strengthening governance) aspects, with the aim of contributing to the achievement of SDGs and realizing a sustainable society and our group’s sustainable development.
