Held Environmental Classes as Part of Community Contribution Activities

As part of its community contribution activities, KOKUSAI ELECTRIC CORPORATION welcomed children and their parents from a nearby Fukushima nursery school to its Toyama Technology & Manufacturing Center for an environmental class and a tour of the center.

On the day, our executives and employees welcomed them and provided a clear explanation of how semiconductor devices are made using our semiconductor manufacturing equipment and are used in familiar items such as smartphones and personal computers, helping to enrich people's lives. In the environmental class, we used illustrations to explain how everyday actions such as not leaving water running, eating everything without being picky, and sorting trash are good for the global environment. In addition to touring the production site, the students also learned about the environmentally friendly initiatives explained in the environmental classes, such as the operation of the solar power generation system and waste sorting.

Under the corporate slogan "Technology & Tai-wa for Tomorrow," we will pursue economic, environmental, and social values from both business and ESG (resolving environmental and social issues and strengthening governance) aspects, with the aim of contributing to the achievement of SDGs and realizing a sustainable society and our group’s sustainable development.
