KOKUSAI ELECTRIC CORPORATION (President and CEO: Fumiyuki Kanai, Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan) is pleased to inform that Toyama Technology & Manufacturing Center has achieved Platinum Status, the highest level of recognition in the Responsible Business Alliance (hereafter referred to as RBA) Validated Assessment Program (hereafter referred to as VAP) audit.

The RBA is the world’s largest industry coalition dedicated to responsible business conduct in global supply chains. The RBA Code of Conduct sets out standards to ensure that workers are treated with respect and dignity, the work environment is safe, and that business activities are carried out in an environmentally and ethically responsible manner.
VAP audits are conducted by independent, third-party firms to assess whether a facility is properly operated in compliance with the RBA Code of Conduct. The assessed facility may be recognized under silver (minimum score of 160), gold (minimum score of 180), or platinum status (full score of 200), according to its assessment score.

In recognition of its proper management, operation, and compliance with the RBA Code of Conduct in all items including Labor, Health and Safety, Environment, Ethics, and Management Systems, Toyama Technology & Manufacturing Center earned the perfect score of 200 and acquired Platinum Status.
Based on this result, we will strive to maintain the Platinum Status of Toyama Technology & Manufacturing Center and enhance improvement initiatives at other facilities including those of Group companies, to further promote responsible corporate activity in compliance with the RBA Code of Conduct.

Under the corporate slogan "Technology & Tai-wa for Tomorrow," we will pursue economic, environmental, and social values from both business and ESG (resolving environmental and social issues and strengthening governance) aspects, with the aim of contributing to the achievement of SDGs and realizing a sustainable society and our group’s sustainable development.
