Join the Semiconductor Climate Consortium (SCC) Focusing on the Challenge of Climate Change as a Founding Member

KOKUSAI ELECTRIC CORPORATION (President and CEO: Fumiyuki Kanai, Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan) is delighted to announce that we have joined the Semiconductor Climate Consortium (hereinafter referred to as “SCC”) of SEMI as a founding member.

The SCC was established for solving the challenges of climate change through collaboration of the semiconductor industry and its value chain, by SEMI. Companies that agree to the commitment of the SCC such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and keeping temperature increase within 1.5°C compared to the pre-industrial revolution times, participate, and promote the initiative to the challenges of climate change.

Our Group is committed to developing the environmentally friendly products and striving the reduction of environmental impacts associated with the Group’s business activities as a responsibility of a global corporation. Part of this activities, we have joined the SCC, and collaborate with member companies with accumulated knowledge and innovative technologies to solve environmental challenges which is hard for our company to resolve on our own.
